We’re pleased to announce the latest addition to the Immerse Safety training portfolio – Incident Investigation.
Workplace incidents need to be investigated effectively to understand not only what happened, but why it happened and, importantly, what can be done to prevent it from happening again.
Our new Incident Investigation course has been designed for managers, supervisors and anyone responsible for investigating workplace incidents, providing delegates with the practical knowledge and skills needed to carry out effective and structured investigations.
What will the course cover?
Throughout the course, delegates will learn how to:
- Identify immediate, underlying and root causes of workplace incidents
- Follow the key steps involved in a structured incident investigation
- Gather, record and preserve meaningful evidence
- Apply effective interviewing techniques when speaking to those involved
- Identify appropriate actions to help prevent similar incidents from occurring again
- Complete incident investigation reports, documentation and action plans
Why is effective incident investigation important?
An effective investigation is about more than establishing what happened. It provides an opportunity for organisations to identify weaknesses in their systems, learn from incidents and implement improvements.
By equipping those responsible for investigations with the right skills and knowledge, businesses can take a more proactive approach to preventing repeat incidents and improving overall health and safety performance.
