- What is manual handling? (Definition, examples, and common causes of injury)
- Legal framework (Including the key duties under Manual Handling Operations Regulations 1992)
- Risk factors and musculoskeletal system (How manual handling affects the body, main risk factors, and musculoskeletal injuries)
- Manual handling risk assessment and L.I.T.E. (Purpose of risk assessments and the L.I.T.E. principle: Load, Individual, Task, Environment)
- How you can protect yourself and others (Safe lifting, carrying, and pulling techniques. The using of handling aids, maintaining good posture, and reporting hazards)
Assessment: The course requires learners to sit a multi-choice consolidation assessment.
