This course provides awareness training for individuals in leadership roles who have influential control over, or lead teams within, Construction (Design and Management) Regulations (CDM) 2015 projects.
Objectives:
By the end of this course, learners will be able to understand the purpose and application of the CDM Regulations, as well as developing strategies to enhance leadership influence and drive a strong health and safety culture on projects.
Course Content:
- Why we should manage health and safety on CDM projects (including the legal, moral and financial arguments for health and safety).
- What is ‘construction’ under the CDM Regulations.
- Duty holder responsibilities, including Client (Domestic and Commercial), Principal Designer, Principal Contractor, Designer(s) and Contractor(s).
- The impact of leadership styles on safety performance, and developing a positive safety culture at board level.
- Risk-based decision making at the executive level, including integrating health and safety into corporate governance and project planning.
Assessment: Delegates will complete a multi-choice consolidation assessment at the end of the course to reinforce key learning points and ensure understanding.
